Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Company reported a 4.9% year-on-year decline in global sales to 265,067 vehicles in November 2025, including Nissan and Infiniti-branded models, down from 278,763 units in the same month last year, reflecting mainly a sharp decline in domestic sales.

Sales in Japan plunged by over 26% to 28,028 units during the month, while overseas sales were down by 1.5% to 237,039 units – with sales in North America weakening significantly.

In the first eleven months of 2025, Nissan’s global sales fell by 4.1% to 2,929,360 units from 3,056,173 units in the same period last year, with sales in Japan down by almost 16% to 374,638 units, while overseas sales declined by 2.2% to 2,554,722 units.

Sales in China have rebounded strongly in the last few months, resulting in a 4.3% decline to 595,077 units year-to-date, while sales in Europe fell by 5.7% to 307,504 units. Deliveries in North America rose by 1.3% to 1,194,361 units, with US sales slightly lower at 844,134 units, while in Mexico sales rose by almost 7% to 246,279 units and in Canada volumes were up by 5% to 102,600 units. Sales in other markets combined fell by 6% to 457,780 units.

In terms of production, global volumes dropped by 6.8% to 2,708,808 units in the eleven-month period, with output in Japan falling by 14.4% to 519,113 units. Overseas volumes declined by 4.8% to 2,189,695 units, driven lower by a 9.5% drop in US output to 446,650 units, while production in China fell by 2.5% to 583,501 units and output in Mexico was down by 2.1% to 622,980 units. Production in the UK fell by 6.7% to 252,555 units.

Exports from Japan declined by almost 17% to 297,189 units year-to-date, with shipments to North America dropping by almost 28% to 125,276 units and exports to Europe plunging by over 34% to 34,149 units, while exports to other markets increased by 4.3% to 137,764 units.
