US-based full-service accounting firm Capstone Accounting and Tax has acquired North Star Tax & Accounting.

Financial details of the deal have not been divulged by both the companies.

Capstone Accounting and Tax CEO Susan Olson said: “We are thrilled to welcome North Star into the growing Capstone family.

Founded in 2008, North Star Tax and Accounting serves the Snohomish, Washington, and Lynden, Washington, communities with a full suite of tax and accounting services, including tax planning and preparation, client accounting services, assurance services, and more.

Capstone’s acquisition of North Star aligns with its strategy to expand its footprint into new geographies by partnering with trusted local firms.

Under the deal, North Star Tax & Accounting will integrate its operations under the Capstone brand, while clients will continue to receive local service from the professionals.

North Star leaders David Romano and Sheena Frenzel will continue their practices as partners within Capstone.

Romano said: “Joining Capstone is an exciting opportunity for our clients and our team. Capstone’s commitment to local service models resonates with our core values, and we are eager to embark on this new chapter together.”

Frenzel added: “Combining our resources and experience with Capstone’s expertise and existing network of offices will enable us to enhance the services we provide our clients in the Lynden and Snohomish communities.”

In April this year, Capstone bolstered its US presence with through the addition of Keller & Mendoza CPAs in Colorado, with Maury Keller becoming a partner at Capstone.

Additionally, the company also integrated Sargent CPA, enhancing its reach in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
