Chinese online fashion retailer Shein has launched an e-commerce logistics centre in Wroclaw, Poland, expanding its fulfilment network in Europe.
The facility will function as the company’s main logistics centre for the region, supporting deliveries to more than 100 million customers across the continent.
With its launch, the total number of jobs supported by Shein in the Lower Silesia region has reached at least 5,000.
Shein first set up European logistics activities in Poland in 2022 and has since generated more than 3,000 roles across its existing Polish locations.
Once operating at full capacity, the hub is expected to provide up to 740,000 m² of warehouse space in the Wroclaw area.
The site is equipped with automated sorting lines and robotic picking systems, designed to raise throughput and improve operational efficiency while maintaining quality requirements.
It will serve as the focal point for Shein’s European logistics operations.
In addition to handling fulfilment, the company said the site will support Polish and European sellers active on its platform.
The site is expected to contribute to growth for more than 170 local small and medium-sized enterprises working in areas such as transport, packaging, logistics, operations and on-site services.
The logistics hub is already operational and is scheduled to reach full operational capacity by the year-end.
Shein EMEA president Leonard Lin said: “We are proud to officially open our new facility here in Poland, where Wroclaw in particular, has been a strategic base for our European logistics since 2022. This strengthens our long-term commitment to the region, while helping us better serve our customers across Europe with faster, more reliable delivery.”
Earlier this week, the French government said it will challenge a ruling by the Paris Judicial Court that dismissed its request to temporarily block or maintain restrictions on Shein.
The appeal followed legal action launched by the State over what it described as “serious breaches” by the platform.
“Shein opens European logistics hub in Poland ” was originally created and published by Retail Insight Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
